A fine large carved Chinese Canton ivory cockade export fan, early 19th century, carved and pierced recto only with scenes of daily Chinese life with a myriad of figures, scholars, pavilions, pagodas, boats, bridges, insects, fish and marine creatures, there is a central oval cartouche with the monogram 'B' of the original owner, the handles are well carved with further animals, figures and Chinese dragons, circa 1800, diameter 37cm, the guardsticks 38cm note: for a similar fan see lot 1264 Christies South Kensington 8th November 2013
